Current District and NJ Department of Health guidelines require students with the following symptoms remain at home and obtain a negative COVID test prior to returning to school. If you have TWO of the following symptoms: fever, chills, myalgia, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion or runny nose; –OR– If you have ONE of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new loss of smell, or new loss of taste. The COVID testing requirement for illness applies to both unvaccinated AND vaccinated individuals. A rapid or PCR COVID test is acceptable for return to school.  Home tests are only accepted if done under tele-med guidance or processed in a laboratory.  PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU HAVE A RAPID AND A PCR TEST THAT ARE OBTAINED AT THE SAME TIME, AND THE RAPID TEST IS NEGATIVE, ALL STUDENTS MUST REMAIN OUT UNTIL THE PCR TEST RESULT IS BACK.

Join us for a fun morning to increase your bike safety awareness on Saturday 10/23 from 9:30-11:00am! With assistance from the Union County Traffic Safety Education team and the Maplewood Bike Shed, kids will learn street safety and hand signals, get their helmets fitted, and have their bikes inspected. The PTO has launched its annual School Supply Kit sale. The boxes will be delivered to the classrooms on the first day of school. In the event that school will not be in person, a pick up option will be provided.  Please click here for more details and to place an order. The PTO will automatically receive a small donation ($5) for each box ordered. The deadline for placing orders is July 1. Please note that graduating 5th graders should place their orders through the LCJSMS PTO. We will share the link as soon as that sale is launched.
