April is School Library Month

AASL_SLM2016_Google+BannerDear Franklin Community,

April marks School Library Month!

Help our school  community celebrate the library books and reading by donating a book to FLIC. REMEMBER ME BOOKS: Each book adds to the permanent collection and comes with a personalized bookplate; class-wide, library-time recognition; and your child’s picture on the wall of honor!! Great for any milestone celebration!  Kids love it! Get started at Amazon by clicking on this link: FLIC Wish list.  As an added bonus, books purchased through this link will earn money for the Franklin PTO through our Amazon Affiliate program!  Books will be sent through Amazon directly to the school – just remember to use “Gift Options” to write a message for your dedication. Questions?  Want to know more about the program?

Contact: Ms. Stochaj (lstochaj@summit.k12.nj.us)  or Mrs. Priscu (npriscu@summit.k12.nj.us)

This month everyone will be exploring different areas of the library. So don’t be surprised if you see books that your child may not usually check out.

Did you know BIG THINGS are happening in the Children’s Room at the Summit Free Public Library. They are renovating the room. Read about it here: http://summitlibrary.org/ Please note also the list of Reciprocal Libraries. (look under the About the Library tab) It is quite extensive.

To ensure your children have enough reading materials, starting April 4, 2016  every child will be allowed to take out up to 6 books from FLIC. If there is a book you wish your child to take out please check our library catalog here: http://destiny.summit.k12.nj.us/  Then make a list with your child so he/she is prepared. Thank you.
Ms. Loreli Stochaj, School Librarian
