On Friday, May 15, immediately after school, the Student Council is helping to run our 2nd annual bake sale in front of the school to raise money for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research (see https://www.cookiesforkidscancer.org/). Cookies for Kids’ Cancer provides annual research grants to five leading pediatric cancer centers and 100% of the proceeds we earn will go directly to support this cause. At the bake sale last year, due to your generosity, we raised $2,914 for this very worthy cause. Please help us to top that amount this year.
Every class is responsible for baking at least 24-30 individual baked goods to be sold. Please click here to sign up on Sign Up Genius to bake either brownies, cookies, cupcakes, chocolate covered pretzels or rice krispie treats:
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer SignUp Genius. If anyone wants to bake something nicer to sell, that is welcome too. Please do not put any nuts in your baked goods and please individually wrap them, either in a plastic Ziploc bag or Saran wrap.
Please drop off your baked goods in the Main Office at Franklin between 11 am- 2 pm on May 15. If you cannot stop by in that timeframe, then you can send your baked goods in with your child in the morning.
Finally, please note that there will be no price tag on any baked good – they will take whatever amount your kids offer. If you will not be at pick up on May 15, we encourage you to please give your kids some money – a few dollars in cash or a larger check – to support this important cause. Also, if we have left-overs after the bake sale, we are asking for volunteers who will be attending any sports games with their kids on May 15-17, if they would be willing to sell some of the left-overs at the game(s). There will be a spot on the Sign Up Genius to sign up for this. The more we sell, the more money we raise for this worthy cause!
