Calling all Franklin Chess Players!  After a brief hiatus, the FES Chess Team is back!  All interested students will be assessed and ranked.  We will meet 21 times on Fridays from 3:05 – 4:05, with our first meeting is scheduled for November 13.  We will have the opportunity to play exhibition matches with other local elementary schools and will participate in the Summit Elementary Chess Tournament at the end of the school year.  The participation fee for each player is $150, payable to the Franklin PTO.  Send all checks to the Main Office.  (PTO scholarships are available.  Mrs. Mirrione will review all need-based scholarships.)  Due to the high interest level, all payments must be received by November 9th, otherwise your child will be placed on a wait list. In order to participate, please send an email containing you child’s name, class and your cell phone number to clarasjenkins229@gmail.com.  Please indicate in your email if you will be applying for a scholarship.  All parents of players will be expected to volunteer at one session to assist the instructor.
