In September, we shared with parents an introduction to the new report card prepared by Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Julie Glazer.  The first marking period will end soon and report cards will be going home on December 12.  As such, we thought it timely to repost Dr. Glazer’s introduction.  For your review, below are links to her communication with copies of sample report cards for each grade.  When you receive your child’s report card, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the school.  Thank you.   Report Card Letter from Julie Glazer Parent Report Card Packet 1st Grade Report Card 2nd Grade Report Card 3rd Grade Report Card 4th Grade Report Card 5th Grade Report Card

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Fall Box tops Collection contest. The children’s enthusiastic participation was evident. Students from EVERY class in the school contributed and, as a result, a total of 4,582 Box tops were collected in less than 2 months. That’s $458.20 in FREE money for our school! And, of course, a HUGE congratulations to Ms. Langborgh’s 5th Graders (5L) and Mr. Sleven’s 2nd Graders (2SL) for bringing in the most Box tops. It was such a close race that Mr. Gil is rewarding both classes with pizza parties. And remember: the next contest begins…right NOW! Any Box tops turned in between now and February 23, 2015, will be counted toward the next pizza party contest, so please continue to clip and submit those Box tops! To see a full list of participating products, visit www.boxtops4education.com. To download collection sheets, please click here for Box Tops Collection Sheet. To answer any questions, please contact Rebecca Levington (rgardyn@hotmail.com).

Concerned Parents of Summit will be presenting “no voting in our public schools” at the Common Council meeting on Monday, November 17th, 7:30 pm at City Hall. Your attendance and support at this meeting will help our case. Please sign the “NO VOTING IN SCHOOLS” petition. See details below from “Concerned Parents of Summit”- In doing our research on finding new voting sites for the next election, we found out that the trailers that Franklin School uses are leased, and those leases will be terminated in September 2015 (or when construction is completed).  After that date, the trailers will be returned and voting will resume inside Franklin School, most likely in the gym.  We wanted to give you this info in the event that you were not aware, since this would directly impact the safety of the kids at Franklin. Mr. Gil let us know that a few parents from Franklin will be attending the presentation to Common Council on the 17th.  We are so thankful for the support, and wanted to let you know that we have several lawn signs left if any parents would like one. We’re also in our final push to reach 1,000 signatures in support […]
