Beauty & the Beast Jr.   Bravo! Brava! Congratulations to the cast and crew of Beauty & the Beast Jr.!!! All those weeks of practice and rehearsals culminated in three amazing shows this weekend. The students worked with our professional team Ms. Holly (Director), Mr. Sean (Musical Director), and Ms. Anneliese (Choreography) to learn the ins and outs of live theater and what it takes to put on a show of this magnitude. The planning process started this summer with lots of hard work from our parent coordinators Sheila Cheney, Amy Burke, and Sarah Vehap. They dedicated countless hours to bringing the beloved story of Belle to the stage. The incredible amount of logistics they organized from costumes, to props, to set design, to programs, to tickets, to scheduling is mind blowing. Thank you ladies!!! Also thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped with sub-committees, at rehearsals, and the shows. We also appreciate all the time you spent at home helping your children learn their lines and songs! We couldn’t have done it with our the help and support of Mrs. Mirrione, Marty, and our custodial staff Rodrigo, Charlie, and Adrian. We hope you enjoyed “Being Our Guest” […]

After School Winter Enrichment 2018 The Franklin PTO is excited to present our six week After School Winter Enrichment program. You’ll find an interesting mix of STEM, art and fitness classes for all grade levels in the below flyer. Like prior years the program will run after school at Franklin from 3pm – 4:15pm. Unlike prior years we will NOT require parent chaperones in the classrooms. You may notice a slight increase in price from last year and this is because the enrichment company will be providing a daily chaperone to help with attendance and dismissal. We hope you find this a welcome change. Registration will take place on the company’s website www.alphabestexplorations.com starting on Monday, January 29th at 8pm. Class sizes are limited and will fill up quickly. Franklin Elementary Enrichment Schedule   Financial Aid is available.  Please contact Marty in the main office by Friday, 1/26 to enroll. Please contact Michelle Andrews (michelleandrews67@yahoo.com), Enrichment Coordinator or myself (cbengel@gmail.com) with any questions. Christie Engel PTO President

The PTO sponsored assembly by the Story Pirates on Friday afternoon was a perfect way to end a snowy week.  The performers acted out plays written by students in 4th, 3rd, 5th and even a kindergartner at others schools in the NY/NJ area.  Thanks to an SEF grant, the Story Pirates will come back to Franklin to work with our 2nd graders on writing their own stories.  This will culminate in another Story Pirates performance where they act out the plays written by our very own students.

The club will run for 14 sessions, meeting in FLIC on Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:15 pm from January 11 – April 19, 2018.
