  LAST CHANCE for 4th Graders to register for this outstanding event–Don’t miss this opportunity! 4th Grade Family Tech Night, Wednesday, February 25th, 6:30-8:30pm Fourth Graders and their Parents/ Guardians, please Join Us For Family Technology Night! Family Technology is a project funded by the Summit Educational Foundation (SEF).  It is being offered at all of the elementary schools this year.   Mrs. Douglas and Ms. Stochaj will be hosting two sessions for fourth grade children who will be accompanied by at least one of their parents/guardians.  We will meet in the Franklin Library (PLEASE NO SIBLINGS). Program Objectives: *Parents will become familiar with the fourth grade curriculum in technology. *Participants will have hands on experiences using district software and programs. (Scratch, Enigmo, Pixie, Google Docs) *Parents and children will participate jointly in learning activities.   Would you like to see your artwork hanging in FLIC? We are looking to decorate FLIC with student artwork. The artwork should include the word READ or a quote about reading or books. (Here is a source for quotes: http://www.libraryspot.com/quotations.htm) The paper must be either 8 in X 10 in OR 11 in by 14 in and can be held either way. Artwork is due to FLIC by January 21st. Ten pieces of art will be displayed each month. BE CREATIVE!

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL Poster Contest Use your artistic talents to design the poster for the Franklin School musical. Do you have a fourth or fifth grader who has an electronic reading device? Would you like  your child to learn how to take eBooks out from the Summit Free Public Library? On Friday, November 21st Ann Marie, the youth librarian, will make two presentations in FLIC. Both are during recess (11:30 and 11:50) Announcements will be made to the students to inform them of this opportunity.
