Franklin Elementary PTO
Dear Franklin Parents/Guardians,
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of Franklin Elementary School! I bring seventeen years of experience; five years as a classroom educator, eight and a half years as a district professional development trainer, and three and a half years as an elementary school principal. I have had the pleasure and privilege to serve a highly diverse student population across academic, socioeconomic, and cultural spectrums.
Simply stated, my life’s purpose is to serve children in my care by creating a rich environment where they can bloom to their fullest academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe that all students deserve every opportunity to thrive and excel in an inclusive school setting. It is also important to provide extensive venues for children to discover, express, and strengthen their talents and passions through club offerings and dynamic, varied learning experiences. Nurturing collaborative relationships and open lines of communication with families further ensure that our children progress throughout their formative elementary school years.
Most recently in my principal role, our students made notable gains in academic achievement and have greatly benefitted from newly expanded opportunities to pursue their talents in the arts, sciences, mathematics, technology, foreign languages, journalism, and athletics. I initiated opportunities to recognize student accomplishments including quarterly awards ceremonies, Student Authors of the Month, and Student Artists of the Month. Character development and raising civic-minded citizens were promoted by exposure to mentor texts, buddy class activities, guidance counselor lessons focused on the 6 character pillars, and plenty of community outreach endeavors. Family members were regularly welcomed into our classrooms to highlight teachers’ exceptional instruction as well as to showcase students’ outstanding accomplishments. I look forward to similarly forging relationships with Franklin’s students, staff, and families and working together to further enrich the school’s vibrant learning community.
As the first day of school rapidly approaches, the construction team has been tirelessly dedicated to completing our new addition on time and teachers have created welcoming new classroom environments. The drop off lane procedures will remain the same, and all hands will be on deck throughout the first week of school to ensure a smooth start. Kindly mark your calendars for the PTO’s first meeting on September 11th at 8:15 as well as Back to School Night on September 16th from 6:30-8:00 pm. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org.
