F.L.I.C. Sign Ups Fall 2017 Monday Morning Makers: Grades 2-5 Join Ms. Stochaj before school in The Space to become makers. Our first theme will be paper folding- origami, paper airplanes, and more! There will be new sign ins for the other themes. Click here to sign up! Monday Lunch: 2nd Grade Book Club A Book Club is a group of friends who decide to read the same book and talk about it. The book we will be reading is Hanni and Beth: Safe & Sound by Beth Finke. The book is about a woman and her Seeing Eye dog. We will meet four times.  Click here to learn more and sign up! Tuesday Morning: Tech Team Grades 4-5 Does your child like working with technology such as coding, making iMovies, playing around with circuits, and so on? Mark your calendars for the first PTO General Meeting of the year on Friday, September 8th at 8:30am.  Coffee & light refreshments will be served and younger children welcome to attend.  At this meeting you’ll be able to mingle with friends you haven’t seen all summer and learn about all the volunteer opportunities open this year.  We’ll also be presenting the budget for review and approval.   Hope to see you all there! Welcome back to another exciting year at Franklin! I hope that you and your families enjoyed a nice and relaxing summer break.  Over the course of the summer the PTO Executive Board, Mrs. Mirrione and the teachers at Franklin have been busy planning lots of events for the 2017/2018 school year.  You’ll learn more about these events at Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 13th at 6:30pm.     Here’s a snapshot of what the PTO has planned with more to come as the school year kicks off! 2nd Annual Welcome Back BBQ on September 22nd from 5-7pm.  This event was so well received last year we can’t wait host it again.  Join us for a fun night on the Franklin Field.  Pre-purchase your tickets now – 9/15 at www.myschoolanywhere.com to take advantage of the family discount. With the first two days of school behind us, the drop-off lane is sure to be busy this week! Please review this letter from our Principal regarding the Drop-Off Procedures for Drivers and Walkers and share it with any of your child’s caretakers. Remember, once your child has exited the car on his/her own, he/she will line up as follows: 1st and 2nd graders will enter through the main door and will NOT line-up outside, 3rd graders will line up by the black benches to the left of the main door, 4th graders by the library and 5th graders on the blacktop. Morning Drop Off Guidelines for Drivers and Walkers Dear Franklin Parents and Community, We all share the same goals for drop off: to get to school on time, to get kids out of the cars safely, and to get to the next destination on time. The best way for all of us to achieve this is if we do our best to follow the same driving guidelines and the same walking guidelines (found at end of letter.)
