The Board of Education recognized newly-tenured staff at the Board meeting on Thursday, September 17. Board President Katherine Kalin addressed the staff and said, “the status of tenure is not casually dispensed in the Summit Public Schools. Only after a careful process and evaluation by administrators, department supervisors, and principals is a staff member recommended for tenure. Those we are honoring tonight have successfully come through that process by demonstrating the skill, commitment, and professionalism that makes our staff second to none.” Twenty-two staff members received tenure this year.
